globeとは、日本の音楽ユニットである。

概要

メンバーは、小室哲哉、マーク・パンサー、KEIKOの3人。
のちに、YOSHIKIを迎え入れてのglobe extreme構想が発表されたが、現在までextremeでの活動の形跡はない。

1995年8月9日、エイベックス内にプライベートレーベル^[1]「avex globe」を設立し、シングル「Feel like dance」でデビュー。続くシングル「Joy to the love」、「SWEET PAIN」とも、ミリオンヒット寸前の売上を記録する。
1996年、当時まだ珍しかった元日に発売日を設定したシングル「DEPARTURES」で230万枚を超す売上を残し、3月発表の1stアルバム『globe』で400万枚という破格のヒットを記録。その後も、ドーム型野球場でのライヴツアー開催、1998年には4部作のシングルを発売した上で全作品をオリコンチャート10位以内に送り込む、1999年発表のベストアルバム『CRUISE RECORD』では、既発シングルと、ほぼ同数の新曲を収録するなど、前代未聞の企画を次々と打ち出し、1990年代後半を代表する音楽グループに成長した。

2002年には小室とKEIKOが結婚。
2003年にはKEIKOがKCO表記でソロ活動を始める。ちなみにKCOの表記は、作詞の草案などで本人が使っていた署名が出典。

2006年のミニアルバム『New Deal』以降新作リリースも途絶えるが、2008年にTM NETWORKの「GET WILD」や「SELF CONTROL」などをカバーして活動再開を宣言。しかし小室の巨額詐欺容疑での逮捕で中止に。

デビュー15周年にあたる2010年、ベスト盤『15years』を3形態で発売。翌2011年には、かつて運営されていたファンクラブと同名のリミックス盤『house of globe』も発売。ニコ生でリリース記念放送が行われ、ジャンルとしてのハウスにこだわっていないと小室が明言していた。
新曲発表を待ち望む声も目立つようになったが、KEIKOがくも膜下出血で倒れて療養中につき、本格的な再開の見通しは立っていない。ただし、小室はtwitterにて、マークと2人でglobeを続けていくと宣言。YOSHIKIに続くextreme（＝第4の）メンバー参加もありえるだろうか。
