痛い

痛い（いたい）とは、日本語の形容詞である。「痛み」「痛む」の形容詞系。

概要

1. 痛みがある状態（痛覚を刺激されるもの）→国語辞典参照
2. 非常識な様。本人は格好いいと思っているにもかかわらず、客観的にみると非常識であり、そのギャップが痛々しい様。ダウンタウンの松本人志が積極的にこの用法を用いたことから、世間一般に認知され広まったものと言われている。アニメのキャラクターを目立つところに表示している場合に用いられることが多い。
3. さらにそこから派生して、「痛車(キャラクターの絵柄をプリントした車)」など、キャラクターを表示する対象物の前に「痛～」をつける表現が一般化しつつある。
   この用法では、キャラクターの絵柄をプリントという行為をどの程度受け入れているかによって、否定的な意味でも、中立的な意味でも、肯定的な意味でも用いられる。

2. pitifully self-satisfied: a situation in which one's foolishness evokes pity and spiritual pain from the others, though he think himself to be cool, especially when he prints ANIME characters on something.
3. [usually 痛～] cartoon-printed(painted): usage 痛車(a car with ANIME character printings.)

CAUTION: the usage(2,3) is not so common. If you use this word in those who do not know the usage, you might be called "ITAI."
